Naim Bintulu Paragon will be hosting a storytelling event and traditional games workshop at Naim ‘The Peak’ Condominium today. Organised by The Ark Reading Room, one of Naim Bintulu Paragon Street Mall’s tenants, the traditional games workshop will start from 9am till 12pm and will be held at Naim Street Mall, while the storytelling session is scheduled from 2.30pm to 4pm, held at The Ark Reading Room.
These sessions are suitable for children aged between 5 to 9 years old and Naim’s Regional general manager for Bintulu, Abang Mahathir Mohamed, invites parents to bring their children to the events. “This is the first time we are hosting such an event. It will be interesting and educational as they can help develop children’s social skills while at the same time, expose them to games which we used to play when we were young,” he said.
Mahathir added those attending the events are welcome to visit Naim’s The Peak show units which are open from 9am to 6pm on weekdays and Saturdays and 10am to 5pm on Sundays and public holidays. “Built with a contemporary tropical minimalist concept, the 34-storey Naim ‘The Peak’ condominium is Sarawak’s tallest condominium tower and works for the condominium tower have reached level 31.
“Do visit our show units which showcase the epitome stylish living and have appealed to many property investors and home buyers, and take advantage of our ongoing Rewards Campaign which allows one to win up to RM500,000 worth of prizes, with grand prize being a house,” he said. Meanwhile, Mr Hong from The Ark Reading Room said children these days are often immersed in digital media as it provides them with instant gratification.
“More and more modern day parents are also relying on mobile devices to keep their children busy and fail to set screen time guidelines, which may lead to various behavioural problems. In fact, the American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) has released a study that stated excessive exposure to TV, computers, and mobile devices will have adverse effects on the child’s cognitive and language development. “As young children are curious and energetic, the trick is to channel that energy and get them to burn as much as possible in positive and productive ways, which our events aim to do,” he said.
