HSL welcomes more than a thousand visitors to its new showhouse at Samariang Aman 2.

KUCHING: Hock Seng Lee Construction’s (HSL’s) new showhouse at the well-established Samariang Aman 2 attracted big crowds, a press release said yesterday.  The nature inspired home, located within the scenic residential development, pulled in more than a thousand visitors over the weekend.

The showhouse features wide open spaces punctuated by colours of the sea, rivers and mountains nearby. Furnitures and finishings seek to create a serene, clean and exclusive look.  Despite the current soft market, HSL’s emphasis on landed properties — in a time when most new launches have been apartments — have resulted in continued positive feedback and brisk sales.

Ninety per cent of an earlier phase launched a year ago had been sold out, senior property development manager Tay Chiok Kee said.

“Over 10 years, we have built 955 houses in Samariang. We sell out every phase. In 2011, Samariang Aman won the Outstanding Landed Residential Development award from the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association,” Tay said. “This weekend’s turnout is indicative of locals’ confidence in HSL homes.”

He confirmed HSL had plans for Samariang Aman 3, and that it would be roughly another 10-year development cycle.  The just launched showhouse will open April 21-22. Viewing on weekdays will be by appointment only. Over the weekend, HSL organised a colouring contest for children seven to nine years old, and 10 to 12. In the younger category, Nur Izzafira Qarin Iswandy won first place, followed by Ko Kit Hieng and Jayden Chong Yan En. In the older category, winners were Chew Boon Choi, Cheh Szi Why and Cherilyn Vong.  The kids took home a total of RM1,400 in cash prizes.

Meanwhile, results for the developer’s #SamariangAman2 photo contest will be announced on this Saturday April 21. Winners for cash prizes worth RM1,500 are being determined according to photo composition, creativity and number of ‘likes’ received.  HSL corporate affairs manager Shirley Loo said the marketing campaign was designed to bring fun activities to the local community, and promote a sense of pride among residents.

“The photo contest really shows off how beautiful Sarawak is. We built these houses to wrap around natural features of the landscape. From the street level, houses, particularly corner units, are accented by Gunung Serapi and Santubong,” Loo said. “From high-angle drone shots, the rivers and surrounding greenery really come across well.

Residents here know parts of the appeal of Samariang Aman are the views, and not just easy accessibility to workplaces, schools and commercial opportunites.” For more information, visit facebook.com/hslcn, instagram.com/hslcn or hsl.com.my.  HSL’s sales team can be contacted at 012 888 9494 (Farah), 019 888 2020 (Ricky), 019 887 7070 (Lyn Tieo), 019 888 7979 (Angie Joan), 019 888 1331 (Troy) and 012 888 7117 (Chong).
