Newcomers SK TASUDA emerge schools champs

KUCHING : The Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tan Sri Sulaiman Daud (TASUDA) won the champion title of the Elite Cricket competition (12 years age group) for the Tun Ahmad Sarji Cup 2017. The newcomers defeated SK Tabuan Hilir with seven wickets in the final held at SK Tabuan Hilir, here, recently.

SK TASUDA players took home a challenge trophy, an accompanying trophy, medals, certificates and cash prize.

Meanwhile, runners up SK Tabuan Hilir, Kuching received a trophy, medals, certificates and cash. Third place went to SK Kampung Senari, Demak Laut while SK Baku, Demak Laut finished fourth. Both teams also received trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes.

The president of Malay Cricket Association of Malaysia (PKMM) Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid gave away the prizes.

Also present were the president of Sarawak Cricket Association (SCA), Awang Mahyan Awang Mohamed, head of State Education Department assistant director, Saliba Bujang and SCA Executive members. A total of nine teams competed in the tournament represented primary schools around Kuching.
