Next step only after registration certificate, says Chief Minister

SERIAN: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is waiting for its official registration certificate from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) before embarking on its next step. Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday told the media this after attending meeting at t h e Resident’s Office here.

H e was asked about the launching ceremony for GPS as well as whether United People’s Party (UPP)) would be invited to join coalition of four Sarawak Based political parties. Meanwhile, on the meeting at the Resident’s Office, Johari said it was with the local authorities and pertained to the development of Serian Division.

“We discussed projects that we would be developing in Serian after it was declared a division. Among them is the Resident Office; construction work will commence in February next year after the tender process.

“Another project is the commercial centre to be constructed by Borneo Development Corporation. There will also be upgrading of roads including Padawan Road and the extension of the village in Tebakang Melayu., “The state government will also develop the areas near the customs, immigration and quarantine 9CIQ) complex,” added the chief minister.
