SERIKIN: The Third Infantry Brigade together with the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI-AD) conducted a joint operation to monitor the movements of goods and people between Malaysia and Indonesia at the Serikin/Jagoi Babang border post from 3pm to 7pm on 30 March, 2018.

The joint operation was conducted with the assistance of the 11th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (11RAMD) led by Lieutenant Colonel Salmi bin Istikh Ahmad.

Also present during the operation were Third Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier-General Mohd Bustaman bin Haji Mat Zin and Commandant of Kolakopsrem 121/ABW (TNI), Brigadier-General Bambang Ismawan.

Road blocks were set to at the entry point during the operation.

Apart from enhancing ties between Malaysian and Indonesian Armed Forces personnel the activity was also aimed at checking the movements of controlled items into Malaysia and Indonesia.

No illegal activities were detected during the operation. Bau Police personnel and Indonesian Customs were also present.
