FAS not taking any more foreign players

KUCHING: The president of Football Association of Sarawak (FAS), Dato Posa Haji Majais confirmed that FAS will not take new import players to replace some imported players who would be dropped ahead of the transfer window opens on May 15.

According to Dato Posa, there is no need towards it because if look at the performance of the existing players in the team, especially during matches, it is clear that the performance of local players look more flattering.

Dato Posa felt that it is better to use the local players for the next matches although most other teams are using import players to strengthen their machinery.

“We will use the existing players and there are no plans yet to take in new imports although some import players will be dropped soon.

“Looking at the current performance of the team, it was clear our local players are more striking than the imports,” said Dato Posa recently.

He said the proposal is the best way to give more space to the coach David Usop to field local players on each match.

Asked on which of the imports would be dropped, Dato Posa replied that he has yet to receive reports from the coaching team on the matter.
