Octogenarian burnt to death in sundry shop fire

LUNDU: A disabled octogenarian was burnt to death in a fire that broke out at a sundry shop in Kampung Jangkar here at 7.50pm yesterday.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesman, the victim was identified as Adward Otoi, 80.

He said the charred body of the man was found at the entrance of the shop which was totally destroyed by the fire.

The operation to put out the fire was mounted by 14 firefighters from Lundu fire station.
