One-metre long cobra caught in drain

BETONG: A cobra measuring one metre was caught in a drain at the State government staff quarters near here yesterday morning.

According to Betong Fire and Rescue Department Operations officer, Henry Jugah, three personnel were dispatched to the scene after they received a distress call from a house owner, Jacklin Inja, at 7.42am.

He said upon arrival at the scene, they took about 26 minutes to capture the poisonous reptiles using snake tongs.

Henry added that the cobra was later released at a nearby jungle.
