KUCHING: More than 100 residents in Taman Dahlia in Matang here attended the Padawan District Police Headquarters Community Policing Programme and Dialogue Session yesterday.

The programme was jointly organised by Padawan District Police and Taman Dahlia and Taman Sri Makmur Neighbourhood Watch Committees (KRTs).

Tupong assemblyman, Fazruddin Abdul Rahman who officiated at the programme said local communities must play their roles in assisting the authorities to preserve peace and harmony in the state.

“What is important is that the communities must know what their roles are and also what to do. That is why the engagement programme between the communities and government agencies such as the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is being organised in order to get the inputs and feedbacks from the ground,” he said.
