Over 200 partake in army blood donation drive

KUCHING: A total of 25 officers, 200 multi-grade personnel and members of Armed Forces Wives Association (Bakat) under First Division Malaysian Infantry participated in Blood Donation Programme for First Division Malaysian Infantry Level which was held at Multipurpose Hall, Muara Tuang Camp, yesterday.

The programme held in conjunction with the 52th Anniversary of First Division Malaysian Infantry was in collaboration with Blood Bank Unit of Sarawak General Hospital.

The programme was attended by First Division Malaysian Infant r y Commander Major General Dato’ Toh Choon Siang.

“This is a community programme by the army to assist the society instead of implementing operation and army training, “The army is always ready to assist the hospital especially in blood donation,” said Toh.

A total of 62 blood bags were collected at the programme which started at 8.00am and ended at 2.00pm. Also present were Third Brigade Commander Brigadier General Mohd Bustaman Mat Zin, and senior officers under First Division Malaysian Infantry.
