PBB honours former leaders

KUCHING: Parti Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) held its “Jasamu Dikenang” event last Friday to honour former leaders for their contributions to the state.

More than 5,000 delegates including leaders from 82 PBB branches throughout the state gathered at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) for the event.

Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also the party president, and his wife, Datuk Amar Datin Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang were present during the “Malam Mesra” ceremony.

PBB Secretary-General, Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi officiated at the ceremony which also featured some cultural dance performances.

The three leaders who were honoured were Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, former Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang and the late Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

Also present were Deputy Chief Minister and PBB Senior Vice-President, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Senior Minister of Resource Planning and Environment and Acting Deputy President, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
