KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sebuyau has resolved that Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg should remain as the party President and Sarawak Chief Minister.

 The branch  held its  Annual General Meeting to elect new office-bearers for 2017-2020 atGrand Dormani RajahCourtHotelhere yesterday.

 PBB Sebuyau Chairman, Datuk Julaihi Narawi said during the meeting, the branch expressed its strong support for the Chief Minister.

 “We also resolved that  Deputy Chief Ministers, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas should be chosen as the PBB Vice Presidents as both are  Acting Deputy Presidents for PBB now,” he added. 

Julaihi said as PBB was the back bone   of Barisan Nasional today, PBB Sebuyau, which is one of the 82 PBB branches in the state, would continue to  strengthen the party machinery.  

“We consider our role at the grassroots level is important in order to strengthen the party,” added the Assistant Minister of Coastal Road.

 “It is the hope of our rural people to have continuous development under the BN government,” he said.
