KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) aims to increase its members. PBB Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said as at December 31, 2018, the party had 336,538 registered members.

“This is one of our focus activities from today onwards in preparation for the state election in 2021,” she told a press conference after the PBB Women Supreme Council’s first meeting for 2019 at the PBB Headquarters yesterday.

“The political scenario has changed. We are going to face our opponents who have already openly declared that they want to form the next government in the state.

“The PBB Women Supreme Council will work together with the main PBB, Youth and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties in creating awareness on and confidence in GPS.”

Fatimah said all of them would ensure that the GPS supporters increased from day to day.

“We have to instil confidence in GPS and ensure the people of Sarawak are its main priority in line with its policy of “Sarawak First’,” she stressed.

Fatimah added at the meeting, the PBB Women Supreme Council members agreed that efforts to create awareness of and confidence in the party should continue after the recent GPS Flag Rally.

“We want to maintain the high spirit that we had during the GPS Flag Rally,” she added.

Fatimah said the GPS Flag Rally held from Lawas to Kota Samarahan from January 10 until January 18 was a good start for GPS.

“This is because from the rally we could share with all our members the GPS logo, song and policy.

“We also fostered good relationships between our members in the spirit of GPS.”

Also present at the press conference were PBB Women deputy chief I Datin Angelina Celestine Ujang and PBB Women deputy chief II Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim and other Supreme Council members.
