KUCHING: The State government has been notified by the Federal Court that the hearing of Petronas’ application for leave to commence proceedings against the State government under Article 128(1)(a) of the Federal Constitution, is postponed to June 21, 2018.
In response to the notice, the State government has stated that all other options to protect and enforce the State’s constitutional rights in this matter will be taken into consideration.
“The State government would not allow Petronas to disrespect and disregard our rights to regulate the upstream activities under our laws such as the Oil Mining Ordinance and Land Code,” said the statement.
