MUKAH: Mukah Polytechnic successfully held an annual programme called ‘PMU Innovation, Competition and Exhibition (PICE) December 2017 Session held from 13 to 15 March.
The Overall Innovation Award winner was the Information Technology Department with its project entitled, ‘Data Structure X-Pro Apps’ led by Jessie Selahat which won the hearts of the panel of judges.
The event organised by the Innovation and Commercialisation Unit led by Norhayati Abdul Wahab was meant to give the opportunity to students taking Diploma course in the polytechnic to come out with creative and innovative ideas on the courses there are taking.
Besides, displaying the students’ innovative projects the event is also a platform to for the lecturers to display and discuss their innovative project with members of an invited panel.
Members of the invited panel were led by Mukah Acting PWD Divisional Engineer, Toh Chee Leong.
One of the categories was for the Innovation lecturers while the student category was participated by five top groups which have accessed by their respective departments to compete namely engineering, non-engineering and research papers.
The prize presentation ceremony was officiated at by Director of Mukah Polytechnic, Haji Abdurani bin Yunus.
Also present were Deputy Director of Academic, Haji Zaukafli bin Mohamed, Deputy Director of Academic Support Iskandar bin Reduan, Departments Heads and panel members from Public Works Department, Sarawak Energy Bhd and Universiti Teknology Mara (UiTM).
