KUCHING: A total of 190 police personnel from Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD) were involved in the Gotong-Royong Mega 1.0 Perangi Denggi 2018 programme at the IPD compound, Jalan Simpang Tiga here yesterday.

The programme, which was graced by Kuching Deputy Police Chief, Superintendent Ismail Mahmood, was held simultaneously throughout the nation.

“This is an order from Bukit Aman as part of the initiative to eradicate the Aedes and spread awareness on the danger of dengue fever,

“Despite the fact that IPD Kuching personnel have no record of contracting dengue fever, we still take precautionary steps to maintain that record so that our police personnel can perform their duties efficiently,” said Ismail.

The programme began at 3pm and the police personnel were divided into groups so that they could work in different areas of the headquarters.
