KUCHING: A total of 3,000 participants from Kuching, Sri Aman, Limbang, Miri, Sibu and Samarahan are expected to attend the ‘E-Usahawan dan E-Rezeki’ programme to be held on September 14.
This was according to a statement from the Ministry of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development on Wednesday.
Its minister, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia here last Tuesday, the statement said.
The purpose of the courtesy call was to invite Abang Johari to officiate at the aforesaid programme which will be held at Penview Convention Centre, here on the said date, the statement continued.
It also added that the ‘E-Usahawan dan E-Rezeki’ programme, a part of the ‘Program Digital Kenyalang’, is a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDec).
The objective of the programme is to streamline intervention of digital business literacy to micro and aspiring entrepreneurs through state-wide outreach events and training programmes, said the statement.
Joining the courtesy call were Assistant Minister of Community Well Being Datuk Francis Harden Hollis; Ministry of Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development permanent secretary Dr Saadiah Abdul Samat as well as representatives from MDec; Civil Service Delivery Unit and Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu), the statement concluded.
