Promoter claims assault at traffic light junction

KUCHING: A promoter sustained injuries on her forehead and arms when she was assaulted at the Sungai Apong traffic light junction on Wednesday morning.

The victim said she was driving along Jalan Pending at about 7.15am when she noticed her ex-boyfriend was following her.

While stopping at the Sg Apong traffic light junction, the victim said a woman emerged from her ex-boyfriend’s car with a piece of wood and used it to smash her car.

The victim was also hit on her forehead and arms and needed seven stitches to close the wound on her forehead.

She later lodged a police report.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, a 52-year-old supervisor from Stutong Baru here said that at about 8.00am on Thursday, he received a call that the store room at his workplace in Siol Kandis had been broken into.

Upon checking the store, he found 11 batteries missing and two machines damaged. He estimated the loss at over RM60,000,

A rented room on the third floor of a shophouse in Petanak was broken into on Thursday.

The tenant of the room, an Indonesian woman, discovered the break-in at about noon.

She lost her passport, RM1,600 in cash and gold jewellery.
