BALAI RINGIN: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates who contest on Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) ticket in parliamentary election will be determined by the support of Assemblymen in the respective parliamentary constituencies.

PRS president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing said the support of State Assemblymen was very important to ensure cooperation in the development of the areas and the people.

“I am just the president of this party but to determine a suitable candidate to contest in the 14th general election (GE14) will be based on support of Assemblymen in the parliamentary constituency he represents.

“This is because we become the people’s representatives by the choice of the people,” said Masing when speaking at the launch of the PRS Youth Argo Machinery at Balai Ringin multipurpose hall here, yesterday.

He said PRS Youth was the backbone of the party and also the Dayak community, as a whole.

“Therefore, unity among PRS Youth is the key to the development and progress of the Dayak community in the state. So we have to trust each other from now on,” he said.

Masing hoped that PRS Youth would have unanimous heart and voice to follow the agenda planned by their leaders.

After the launch here, PRS Youth Argo Machinery will proceed to Baleh and other constituencies under PRS.

A total of 21 PRS Youth exco members, including from the Women’s wing, were being introduced during the launch.
