PSS Hall to undergo renovation for S’wak Games

KUCHING: President of Sarawak Sepak Takraw Association (PSS), Dato’ Sri Abang Khalid Tan Sri Abang Marzuki expressed his delight because the main court, Dewan Sepak Takraw PSS, Jalan Stadium will now be renovated.

According to him, the renovation is being done to prepare with Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) 2017 which will be held from December 14 to 17.

“Our association has been holding talks with the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) recently and they have agreed to renovate the Dewan Sepak Takraw PSS which will be used for the Sarawak Games 2017,” he said recently.

Khalid added that PSS will be sending a proposal to the governing body (MSNS) soon and the  renovation works will begin after they visited the hall to see any damages to be repaired.

He also said the works will start once the cost to renovate has been approved.

“We are very pleased that the dilapidated hall had will be renovated to enable organise any tournaments there later,” he said.

Khalid said he hoped the RM3.5 million application to upgrade the hall will be approved by the state government.

“We really hope for approval because the budget is important for PSS to go one step forward by beginning to hold an international tournament starting this year,” he said.
