Puteri Dang Balai Yayasan Sarawak is ‘King of the River’!

KUCHING: Puteri Dang Balai Yayasan Sarawak was crowned “King of the River” (Raja Sungai) when it emerged champion in the Bidar Boat 30- paddler (male) event on the final day of the Sarawak Regatta Race for Harmony at the Kuching Waterfront Festival 2018 here yesterday.

Besides clinching the Head of State (TYT) Challenge Trophy, the team members also took home RM10,000. Ranger 1966, which came second, received RM8,000 and a trophy.

Puteri Dang Balai Yayasan Sarawak, another team from Yayasan Sarawak, captured the third spot; it took home RM6,000 and a trophy.

14 other boats competed in the final of the 30-male paddler Bidar boat race for the TYT Challenge Trophy yesterday.

The winners received their trophies and prizes from Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing who also flagged off the Bidar Boat 20-paddler VIP event.
In the Bidar Boat 25-paddler (male) event for the Petronas Trophy, Cahaya Zen came first while Jang (Sebauh Bintulu) was second and Landas 26 third.

In the Bidar Boat 20-paddler (male) event for the Petra Energy Berhad’s Trophy, Landas 36 took the first spot. Jang Pantai Damai came second while Landas 38 was third.

In the Kenyalang Boat 20-paddler (male) event for the Ta Ann Trophy, Cats Fm came first while Landas 54 was second and Puteri Dang Sarawak third.

In the Bidar Boat 20-paddler (male) inter-division event for the State Secretary Trophy, Buraq Terbang N.3 Tanjung Datu ( Kuching Division) was first. Pusaka (Mukah Division) came second while Udak Samarahan (Samarahan Division) was third.

In the Bidar Boat 20-paddler VIP event, the boat, YB Fazzruddin N6 Tupong, owned by Dato Sri Haji Fadillah Yusof came first while EnRaz CAHAYA ZEN 1 owned by by Dr Annuar Rapiee came second and Pusaka owned by Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan was third.

Thousands of people thronged the Kuching Waterfront yesterday to witness the events.
