KUCHING: Wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajah Ragad Kurdi Taib graced the Mother’s Day High Tea here.

The event, held at Riverside Majestic Hotel here, was also attended by the Chief Minister’s wife, Datuk Amar Datin Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang and Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.

In her speech, Juma’ani thanked “Persatuan Masakan dan Kuih Muih Sarawak” for organising the event for all young women and mothers.

She pointed out that a mother’s care for her child could never be repaid even with a mountain of gold or a sea of diamonds.

“Mothers do not expect to be repaid by their children.

“Therefore, children, appreciate your mothers and always thank them and if you are far from them, call them,” advised Juma’ani.

She also advised children to always pray for their mothers who had passed on so that the latter could be happy in the afterlife.

The high tea featured many interesting items such as live bands, local young singing sensations and a wedding fashion show.
