KUCHING: There is no objection on the intention of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) to spread its wings to Sarawak. This was pointed out by Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Dr Haji Abdul Rahman Junaidi when speaking to reporters during his Raya Open House at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), Petra Jaya, yesterday.

“As a country that practises democracy, we have no objection pertaining to the said matter. We only need to make sure that the presence of additional party to Sarawak would not be a factor for dividing our people.

Our intention here is to bring the people together. I have no objection in bringing the PPBM here to Sarawak,” said Rahman. He also said that despite the presence of a new party, they will still create a harmony in order to prevent the division of our people. “We hope that dur ing the upcoming election, we are able to conduct ourselves properly as matured politicians whereby we try to give an emphasis on our own method on the matter to develop our state in a better manner.

“Par ti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) has proven to be an insight, vision and mission that is very strong since our country’s independence half a century ago and PBB can develop Sarawak and its people. And I believe that majority of the locals here support PBB and other political parties and the people’s support to PBB is strong, “We also have strong leaders that have proven to be beneficial to the community such as our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg. And people of Sarawak give priorities to local parties,”he said.

“I am not denying the rights of other parties but I am certain that we are able to take care of our own house, and if we are able to do it, then what is the point of asking others to look after our own house? If we are not able to do it, only then can we seek the help of others,” he added.
