DALAT: The residents of Kampung Sungai Kut Muara near here have every reason to smile when the road to their village was officially opened for them to use last Sunday morning.

According to chairman of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), David Ulis, the road project costs RM1.8 million.

“With the completion of the 1,150-metre road costing RM1.8 million which connects the village with the Dalat-Sungai Kut main road would further intensify the movement of the people in the area,” he said.

He added that the parking of cars along the main road for years has definitely become a thing of the past with the completion of the feeder road.

“When cars were parked by the roadside it was not only a security matter but also about convenience because we have to walk a certain distance. And of course, with the completion of this road we can park our vehicles near our houses,” he said.

David also thanked those involved in helping to realise the road project.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Minister of Welfare, Community Well-being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah who is also Dalat Assemblywoman for her tireless effort to ensure the road project materialized and also those involved in the project, especially the army,” David said.

The road project was undertaken by the Army in June last year and was scheduled for completion in June this year.
