KAPIT: Kapit Resident who is also the organising chairman of this year’s Baleh Kapit Raft Safari, Joseph Belayong Punan yesterday called on all boat owners to take note of the closure of section of Baleh River and Rajang River on 1 and 2 April.

This is to ensure the smooth running of the annual rafting event.

“In conjunction with the Baleh Kapit Raft Safari 2017, a section of the rivers commencing from Rumah Ansie, Nanga Sepajie, Sungai Majau and Rumah Along, Nanga Majau, Sungai Mujong, Batang Baleh and Batang Rajang to Kapit Passenger Terminal will be closed to river traffic on this 1 and 2 April from 7.00am to 5.00pm daily,” said Belayong to the press yesterday.

“Shipping communities and the public are advised to give their fullest co-operation and adhere to instructions given by SRB (Sarawak Rivers’ Board) and Baleh Kapit Raft Safari 2017 officials to avoid any untoward incident during the event.
