BAU: Chief Mini s ter, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg recently allocated RM20 Million for a water treatment plant in the area. This was announced by Abang Jo during the 13th Gawai Carnival Redeems 2018 at Redeems Centre, Jln Apar-Segong, Singai Bau on Saturday. “The government emphasises on the importance of clean water supply.

We are currently allocating money to areas in desperate need of it. As for a long term solution, we are building the state-wide water grid so that consumers are able to enjoy clean water supply immediately.

“In Bau, there has been an announcement to build an updated water supply which costs about RM100 million covering Bau, Lundu and Sematan, but Bau itself needs to have its own water treatment plant in order to enhance the supply of water in this area, Abang Jo also announced that a Telekom tower will be built in Redeems Singai with the cooperation of the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) and Bau authorities for better internet coverage.
