TATAU: Works Minister Baru Bian presented a sum of RM20,000 for the construction of a kindergarten near a BEM Church at Lubuk Kubung,Kakus, near here yesterday.
Baru who is also a Member of Parliament for Selangau stressed the importance of an early education in order to prepare the children for formal education in primary school.
“This assistance is to help realise the effort of the commuity here to build their own kindergarten,” Baru said when officiating at the ground-breaking ceremony for the kindergarten near BEM Church in Lubuk Kubung.
He also congratulated the people of Lubuk Kubing and those involved in making the ceremony successful. At present the kindergarten is housed temporarily in the BEM Church under the name of Akar Baik Kindergarten. Baru and his entourage also visited SK Sangan Iban here after the ceremony.
