MIRI: The RM89.2 million PPR Lambir housing project was developed from April 2013 and was fully completed in October 2015.

It involved the construction of 505 units of terrace houses with a total area of ​​700 square feet.

This was disclosed by Assistant Minister of Housing and Public Health, Dr. Annuar Rapa’ee when speaking to officiate at the PPR Lambir Project Key Handover Ceremony here yesterday.

He pointed out the government through its Local Government and Housing Ministry will review on the affordable housing scheme ownership process to avoid any miss-out on eligible applicant.

Annuar said that the criteria set out could be modified so that it could cover the entire community that is eligible for own home.

In his speech Annuar said the ministry would also seek to get more allocations from the federal government especially for low-cost housing projects to meet the needs of the people in the state.

Besides PPR, he said that the state government is introducing the Special

Housing Scheme (SPEKTRA) to assist the people of Sarawak to own their own homes which will be fully implemented by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

Meanwhile, Anuar said, all the successful applicants will receive their keys in the near future.

All of them are expected to move into their houses before November this year.
