KUCHING: The Third Mile Hawkers Association has successfully registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and completed the handing over of registration certificate to its President Ho Yian Choon at Sg Maong Wet Market yesterday morning.
Witnessing the event were Batu Kitang State Assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang who is also the Chairman of Padawan Municipal Council, together with Cr. Amy Tnay and Cr. Wilfred Yap.
Lo said the Padawan Municipal Council had approved Rm150,000 this year to upgrade Sungai Maong Wet Market.
The establishment of 3rd Mile Hawker Association is a more organised and effective way of using the upgrading fund to improve the business environment, hygiene and safety measures while providing a safer and more comfortable hawker centre to the public.
He also called on all traders in the hawker centre to join the Hawkers Association as it is beneficial for traders through organisational planned management and it will help improve the hawker centre’s business environment and safety.
The MPP chief hoped that 3rd Mile Hawker Association will be able to seek more benefits for it members through the strength of unity and co-ordination of traders within the hawker centre.
