SABERKAS BERNAS Bubur Lambuk Roadshow from 27 May until 22 June

KUCHING: SABERKAS BERNAS Bubur Lambuk Roadshow will be back for the   Ramadan month celebration; it will start on 27 May and end on 22 June.

According to the Secretary-General of the Sarawak National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS),Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi, the opening of the roadshow will be held at Pasar Debak, Debak on 31 May and it will be officiated by Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg at 4pm.

Themed “Satu Rasa, Satu Semangat, Satu Negara”, the 14th roadshow will be joined by 43 SABERKAS branches throughout the state.

“So far, 43 branches throughout the state have agreed to hold this roadshow and we aim to have this roadshow in all 82 SABERKAS branches.

“However, this roadshow will be held in more locations so that more people, especially the needy, can experience the joys of Ramadan,” he said.

Rahman, who is also Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity, said this during a press conference on the roadshow held at the new State Legislative Assembly (DUN) here yesterday.

He added although the roadshow was held during the month of Ramadan, it was not only targeting the Muslim community but would be joined by other SABERKAS members from diverse backgrounds, races and religions.

“At the same time, it aims to enhance cooperation among the members involved through mutual assistance.

“In addition, we (SABERKAS) will also invite the local community and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in villages and housing areas,” he said.

Organised by SABERKAS, the roadshow has received full cooperation from Beras Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) as well as Malaysian Youth Council (MBM).

Each year for this activity, BERNAS would sponsor RM30,000 while MBM would  allocate RM5,000, he explained.
