SRI AMAN: A sales advisor was killed when the four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle he was driving collided with a lorry at KM15 Sri Aman-Sarikei Road on Wednesday.

Sri Aman District Police chief, DSP Othman Sulaiman said the victim was identified as Cerdic Lim, 32.

“Early investigation at the scene revealed that the victim was overtaking another vehicle when his 4WD collided head-on with the lorry which was heading to Betong from Sri Aman at 3.52pm.

“As a result of the collision, both the lorry laden with construction materials and 4WD crashed by the road shoulder,” he said.

Othman said Lim who was pinned to his seat was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“The victim’s remains were sent to Sri Aman Hospital for a post mortem. This case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987,” he said.

Meanwhile, it was understood that the victim had sent his wife to Saratok before meeting with an accident with the lorry while on the way back to Sri Aman.
