SAR ops for missing girl enters seventh day

SARATOK: The search and rescue (SAR) operations to locate an 11-year-old disabled girl who fell into the river in Kabong near here continued into its seventh day.

Starting around 7am yesterday, the SAR mission to locate the missing victim Nur Syahadah Fatihah Imam who was believed to have fallen into the river at Pengkalan Perahu Tambang Kabong, Saratok on last Dec 23, was led by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).

The SAR operation was held along the river covering a seven-kilometre radius from where she fell with water surfacing search technique as well as along the riverbanks.

There are four Bomba personnel involved using one boat. They are assisted by three policemen in one boat, five members of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in one boat and ten villagers in two boats.

Saratok Bomba Station chief Assistant Fire Superintendent (PPgB) Nazry Mohamat led the operations.
