KUCHING: Entering its 10thyear, this year’s event which is going to be held from 27 to 30 April 2017 at Kuching Waterfront, promised a whole lot more of products and entertainment for the public to look forward to.
Since it was first introduced, Satok Fest has proven to be a growth catalyst for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Along the years, the number of operators participating in the festival had increased and this had led to the birth of the famous Satok Uptown @ Kuching Civic Centre, the first Uptown Concept Night Market in Sarawak in 2015.
Besides being a promising platform for SMEs, Satok Fest has also branded itself as an attraction for the tourism sector in Kuching. Upholding the concept of Cultural & Heritage each year, various performances had been lined up such as “Pertandingan Silat”, “Pertandingan Hadrah”, “Gendang Melayu Sarawak”, “Satok Idol” and many more.
And for the first time, in honour of its’ 10thyear, Satok Fest 2017 proudly present the Satok Youth Jazz Nite, the first ever Jazz performance in Sarawak where the performers are strictly from the Youth genre. At least 6 local Jazz bands are expected to show off their talent in Jazz music that night.
Satok Fest is hoped to be recognized globally and not just as a local event in Sarawak.
To realise that dream, within this 10 years the organizing committee had brought Satok Fest across the South China Sea and to-date had held Satok Fest 2013 in Malacca and Satok Fest 2015 in Kuala Lumpur.
