SIBU: A primary school here SK Abang Ali launched the ‘Fly Jalur Gemilang’ campaign in conjunction with the Merdeka month with the aim to inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the students.
The launching ceremony held last weekend was celebrated by students, teachers, staff and parents in a vibrant and lively atmosphere.
Speaking at the event, Sibu Municipal Council Councillor, Zaiton Abdul Kader congratulated the school for successfully providing a programme that benefits many of its students.
“I hope the spirit of patriotism and love toward country is inculcated in primary schools starting from pre-school students.” “Hence, it is relevant for schools to continue such activities or programmes in the future to continue inculcating the spirit of patriotism among all,” she said.
At the same time, she also expressed her appreciation to Dato Mohd Yusnar Matalie as Chairman of SK Abang Ali Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) who has given his support to the school.
The ceremony was celebrated by various programmes and activities, including silat performances, aerobics, procession around Kampung Baharu and others. Among those present were headmaster of SK Abang Ali, Hamdi Najdi, police personnel, members of ‘Aman Wanita’ (AMANITA) Sibu, parents and others.
