Semop rep distributes RM780,000 in MRP, RTP grants

BINTANGOR: A total of RM780,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) and Rural Transformation Project (RTP) grants were given out to associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Parent-Teacher Associations, as well as fire victims here yesterday.

Present to hand over the grants was Corporate Affairs Assistant Minister Abdullah Saidol. According to Abdullah who is also Semop Assemblyman, out of the amount, RM210,000 would be used to help repairing the houses of Kampung Muhibbah fire victims.

Meanwhile, four bodies namely Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Melayu Bintangor, SABERKAS Meradong, Meradong PBB Women’s wing as well as Limau Festival 2018 organising committee received RM10,000 each.

At the same time, RM5,000 each presented to Kelab Anak Seni Meradong, Meradong Youth Club and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Abang Amin Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Apart from that, SK Abang Amin also acquired a sum of RM15,000 to build the school’s waiting area.

“The balance of RM500,000 will be utilised to upgrade the road and infrastructure in Kampung Melayu Bintangor, “ he said at a briefing session with the community leaders of Kampung Melayu Bintangor.

The briefing aimed to ensure leaders in Semop receiving accurate information on short-term and long-term project development plans in their respective villages. Also present was Meradong District Officer Haron Mahidi.
