SERIAN: The Serian FA’s squad managed to earn a full points in the Sarawak Zone of People’ Football League (LBR) 2017-2018 after defeating Samarahan FA 2-1 at the group qualifying match at Serian Sports Complex, here, on last weekend.
Mohamad Nidzam Azhar from Kampung Gedong became hero of Serian FA when he scored a goal in the 82nd minute through a penalty kick. Serian FA seized the lead in the 59th minute through a beautiful volley.
However, Samarahan FA equalised in the 70th minute through a goal by Mohd Azizan Eshak. “The three points that are very meaningful to us are good for the players because they have earned the first win for Serian FA in the group stage rivals.
“Hopefully, this win will boost the players spirit in the forthcoming matches,” said Serian Division Football Association (SFA) president, Phillip Jabu. Phillip added that his players were unable to show their real performance due to the wet and slippery condition of the field.
