KUCHING: Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developer Association (SHEDA) Kuching Branch’s Second Home & Property Roadshow is back. This is where visitors will get to meet face-to-face with top property developers and related industry players marketing their products and services in this three-day event, which will be held from November 17 to 19 (Friday-Sunday), from 10am till 9pm at Boulevard Shopping Mall, Kuching.
Organising Chairman, Sim Kiang Chiok at a press conference yesterday stated that there will be over 30 booths comprising developers, real estate agents and other property related traders bringing in the best property offers for personal use or investment purposes in East and Peninsular Malaysia.
Potential house buyers can also expect special promotions and offers since the Second Home & Property Roadshow 2017 will be the final of its kind in Kuching this year. “There is something for everyone who is interested in buying a property during this roadshow,” he added.
The Second Home & Property Roadshow 2017 will also feature a “Buy & Win” Lucky Draw where participants stand a chance to win the Grand Prize of a 3M™ Filtered Water Dispenser worth RM4,299 sponsored by 3M. Other attractive electronic items put up as consolation prizes are also awaiting lucky winners. The “Buy & Win” Lucky Draw is open to all visitors who make purchases from any of the roadshow participating booths.
Commenting on the recent Budget 2018, Sim said, “We welcome the announcement of the step-up financing scheme which was initially provided to PR1MA will now be extended to private developers based on certain criteria as announced under Budget 2018.
“Such scheme will assist home buyers with higher loan entitlement and lower rejection rates. The first five years repayment can be for the interest only and it also allows Account 2 of the EPF to be included in the loan amount application and monthly loan repayment.
“The 50% tax exemption on rental received for residential property by resident individuals not exceeding RM2,000 per month is good for house owners who can now generate the rental returns with lower income tax. This would promote house ownership in view of rental income. This would spur house ownership as an investment and a saving that have better returns than before this tax exemption,” he added. Sim also said that the 2nd Home & Property Roadshow 2017 had also invited NGOs to participate as part of their CSR programme.
Mental Health Association of Sarawak (MHAS) will be participating in this roadshow by giving a free mental health screening for mem tomorrowbers of the public. Enoch Elderly Association Sibu will be sharing their knowledge on ‘going green’. Volunteers from the association will be present during the three-day roadshow to create awareness of and share their knowledge on the importance of preserving the environment.
General public who visit their booth will be taught how to make something from recyclable items and turning them into environmentally friendly end-products.
