PUSA: The villagers here were shocked when a ship used for the construction of the Rimbas River Bridge overturned and capsized in the Rimbas River here yesterday morning
According to the villagers, the incident occurred at around 10.20am. The ship, they said, tilted before it capsized due to strong currents.
Still on board the ship, which is stranded near the bridge, are two cement lorries and a long crane.
It is understood that all the crew members were able to save themselves.
The Rimbas River Bridge is one of the projects approved by the Prime Minister during his visit here at a cost of RM46 million.
It is scheduled to be completed in August this year. Pusa is about six hours’ drive from Kuching.
