SIBU: Sibu Hospital Blood Bank is facing a shortage of blood. When speaking to New Sarawak Tribune recently assistant information officer of the blood bank Lily Sinta said their blood bank had always depended very much on the mass media such as newspapers and the radio to inform and invite public members to come forward and donate their blood.

This, she said, was to ensure that they would always have enough blood to cope with the demand.

“Please donate blood at Sibu Blood Bank (Room No.55 of Sibu Hospital) to ensure we have enough supply of blood for patients for the next few days.

“We start the blood donation  drive from Monday to Thursday at the said venue from 8am until 12.30pm and from 2pm until 4.30pm.

“On Friday we operate at 8am until 11.15am while in the afternoon we open from 2pm until 4.30pm,” Lily explained.

She added, over the weekends and public holidays, the blood bank is closed unless a special appointment is made.
