Six teams partake in Miri Police badminton tournament

MIRI: A total six teams from various departments of Miri police force here took part in the three-day badminton tournament.

The Miri Police Chief Badminton Cup championship is an annual tournament held involving various police departments here.

The event kicked off on Aug 17 and came to a close on Aug 19, with the management department of the Miri police force emerging as champion followed by Miri central police station team and in third was the Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team.

All winning teams received trophies,medals and cash prizes.

Present at the simple prizes handing over ceremony was Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah.

Lim in his brief speech lauded the organising of such event as it could bring all departments of the Miri police force together in the spirit of sportsmanship.

“I believe this event could nourish talents amongst us in the sport (badminton),” he said.
