GEDONG: Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) has advised river users such as fishermen, speedboat operators and ships to slow down when travelling along Batang Sadong near Gedong town today and tomorrow.
Batang Sadong, starting from hulu Mayong River until the left side of Jengok River, will be used for the Gedong Regatta in conjunction with the Gedong Sports Carnival which began yesterday.
The river water activities begin as early as 6 am and end around 6 pm during the sports carnival which is organised by Parti Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Gedong branch.
Exciting events include the “Batak Lampung”, arm wrestling, futsal, volleyball, aerobics, a pump engine boat race, an exhibition and sales of agricultural products, food, drinks and daily necessities as well as a live band performance.
