MUKAH: About 1,500 church goers attended the Corpus Christy Sunday mass held at Sts Peter and Paul Church here yesterday.

Being one of the main events on the Catholic Calendar, the religious event was presided by the Church Rector, Rev Fr Joseph Sebastian.

It kicked off with the mass proper at about 8am, followed by a procession from the new church to the old church, and back.

After the 200 metre procession, the religious event closed with a final blessing by the priest at the new church.

Corpus Christy symbolises Jesus’s unconditional love towards human and comes in union with each one of us to partake our joys and pains with us as well as to bring us out of our individualism to live in communion with others.
