MIRI: The state’s civil servants expressed their joy when Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg announced a bonus of one and a half month salary to be paid by the end of December this year.

A civil servant, Bidah Lujah, 42, said she was grateful with the announcement made by the state government yesterday as the bonus will able to ease her burden to pay her three children’s schooling expenses.

“Usually, during year end and the beginning of the year, we need lots of money, especially for the children schooling expenses.

“I feel, the bonus received is very helpful in the current economic environment,” she added.
Meanwhile, for Karambir Singh, he said, the bonus is a sign of the state government’s efforts to appreciate the good work of civil servants serving in the state.

“A one and a half month bonus paycheck proves that the state government appreciates the services and contributions of the state’s civil servants,” he said.
