Suspect with fake RM100 currency notes nabbed

KAPIT: A 34-year-old man here was arrested for having in his possession 62 fake RM100 currency notes.

According to a source the suspect had earlier on made payment at a petrol station on Tuesday after refuelling his car here using the RM100 currency note where he was given the balance of RM90 by the cashier.

Upon realising that the RM100 currency note was a fake, the cashier immediately notified his employer who later asked the cashier to lodge a police report on the matter.

Acting on a public tip off a police team led by Inspector Ugendran A/l Nesaratnam conducted a search at two separate locations at Jalan Selirik and managed to arrest a 34-year- old man and seized 62 fake RM100 currency notes from the suspect including a laptop, a printer and a car.

The suspect is being detained in a police station here to facilitate police investigations.
