KUCHING: A 24 year old unemployed had been arrested for drug peddling under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 which carries a mandatory death sentence if convicted.
On Thursday afternoon at about 4.30 pm, the suspect was stopped while in a silver Hilux along Jalan Airport. Police who received the feedback from members of the public stopped
the man and checked his car.
They found a bag with black plastic paper and inside were five small pieces of plastic bags. The susbtances were believed to be Ketamine weighing 53.18 gm with market value of RM5,000.
The suspect was detained for seven days for investigation. He was also tested positive for drugs, according to Head of Narcotic, Supt Sahar Abdul Latiff.
