BINTULU: Police detained 43 individuals including two women in Ops Tapis during raids on three separate premises here.
Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) chief Supt Sahar Abdul Latif said the 43 detainees were aged between 16 and 45 years old.
“Forty people are being investigated under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and another three are being investigated under Section 12 (2) of the same Act,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Sahar said six officers and 23 constables were involved in the operation that began from 9.00pm until 2.30am yesterday morning.
“Syabu weighing 0.95 grams worth RM150 was also seized and all suspects have been detained at the Bintulu District Police Headquarters (IPD) lock-up for further investigation,” he said. – Bernama
