MIRI: A teenage boy sustained serious injuries after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a stationary lorry trailer near Emart Tudan Commercial Centre here yesterday morning.
Miri District Deputy Police chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the victim was identified as Mohamad Syafik Mohd Basir, 15.
In the incident that occurred around 8.30am, Syafik was heading to the city centre from Sungai Tujuh when his machine suddenly went out of control and rammed the rear of the trailer.
An ambulance was summoned to the scene and he was given treatment by paramedics before being taken to Miri Hospital for further treatment.
Stanley said the case was being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
