Tengah in Seoul to meet South Korean investors

KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development and Second Minister of Urban Development and Natural Resources, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, is leading a state government visit to Seoul, South Korea this week.

The visit is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development (MIED) to intensify Sarawak’s investment promotional programmes overseas and engage directly with potential investors to attract direct foreign investments.

In recent years, Sarawak has attracted the interest of many South Korean investors who have visited the state and a few have already made investments here such as OCI Malaysia (Samalaju) and Iljin Materials Co., Ltd (Sama Jaya). During this week’s visit, Tengah will meet with a few more potential investors and visit two factories.

His delegation includes Assistant Minister of E-Commerce and Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) Development.

Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Assistant Minister of Industries and Investment, Malcolm Mussen Anak Lamoh, Deputy State Secretary (Socio-Economic Transformation), Datu Haji Ismawi bin Haji Ismuni, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development, Datu Liaw Soon Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot and other senior government officials. In attendance is Director MIDA Seoul, Mohd. Reduan Zabri.
