KUCHING: Police arrested a 24-year-old suspect at 7pm on Thursday night in his house in Petra Jaya for starting a fight outside a pub at Travillion where four persons landed in the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) with two critically injured.

The fight started at 3.30am on Thursday morning when the two groups were all intoxicated. Some of the suspects used weapons to fight and one was believed to be using a folding knife.

Other pub goers called an ambulance and the injured were rushed to the hospital with one having his internal organ seen. Another was stabbed a few times on the stomach while one has stab wounds on his legs.

Kuching police chief, ACP Abang Ahmad bin Abang Julai confirmed the arrest and said the suspects will be detained and remanded for further investigation.

He said they are still looking for the weapon used in the fight and is investigating the motive of the violent attack. He said the suspect himself is also injured. Police will find if other suspects are involved, he added.
