KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received courtesy call from Minister in Prime Minister’s Office (Religious) Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa and delegates from Malaysian Islamic Development Department or Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) at Demak Jaya in Kuching.

Such a call was to invite Tun Taib to attend the 16th Convocation Ceremony of  Malaysian Islamic Skills Institute of Sarawak also known as Institut Kemahiran Islam Malaysia Sarawak (IKMAS) to be held at the Kuching Islamic Complex on this 7 August.

This was the first courtesy call from Datuk Dr Mujahid to the Sarawak Head of State since his appointment as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious) by the new government under Pakatan Harapan (PH). The minister arrived yesterday morning for a one-day work visit to Sarawak.

He was expected to meet with religious agencies in the state and thereafter to call on Chief Minister before leaving for Kuala Lumpur in the evening.
